Strategic Direction

Priorities, Goals, and Tactics

PRIORITY: ORGANIZATION

Since its inception, GeA has been a labor of love, guided by our founding members and dedicated volunteers.
During this first decade, we proudly established our Board of Directors, ratified our bylaws, and formalized our leadership positions. A strategic plan (2020-2023) was also developed. Our focus over the next five years will be on deepening our collaborations to ensure the sustainability of our organization.

Goal 1: Deepen our collaboration with various agencies, institutions, and community leaders to expand the impact of active and educational leadership by 2030.

Tactics:

  • Promote creative leadership services through social media.
  • Offer creative leadership services, including workshops, facilitation, theatrical performances and techniques, storytelling, webinars, and training programs.
  • Establish and strengthen relationships with political leaders and businesses in our community.

PRIORITY: OPERATIONS

As we expand our programming and reach communities in Los Angeles, across the United States, and internationally, our operating budget has remained relatively stable. While our community continues to value the work we do and remains committed to helping us achieve our vision and mission, it recognizes that we are at a crucial point in GeA’s rganizational growth. Guided by the feedback we received from our stakeholders during the organizational assessment process, we will focus in the oming years on expanding our team, our operational structure, and our budget.

Goal 2: By 2030, strengthen our organizational structure to ensure long-term stability and sustainability.

Tactics:

  • Identify and develop relationships with sponsors and foundations.
  • Develop a system for identifying grants and donations.
  • Establish a recurring donation system and campaign.
  • Expand our board of directors to include experts in finance, art, and related fields.
  • Grow the GeA team in key areas, including administrative support, development, and communications.

Goal 3: By 2030, strengthen the visibility and communication capacity of GeA to attract new sources of funding, strategic partnerships, and greater community participation.

Tactics:

  • Maintain consistency across all communication channels, including the website, social media, etc., to maintain an active presence.
  • Design and implement a messaging calendar.

PRIORITY: PROGRAMS

As the only intergenerational program in the County of Los Angeles that integrates art, leadership, and community care primarily in Spanish, our goal in the coming years is to sustain and expand our innovative programs in art, theater, storytelling, and outdoor activities.

Objective 4: Increase participation in and access to free and paid intergenerational programs by 20-30%.

Tactics:

  • Develop a strategic communications plan to disseminate event details.
  • Strengthen collaboration with organizations, institutions, and community leaders to expand participation and reach new audiences.

Objective 5: Foster the development of strong, supportive social connections for emotional well-being and collective capacity and support by 20-30%.
