Direct a short documentary that spotlights Latina elderly women in East Los Angeles, shedding light on their enduring struggles, cultural resilience, and the often-overlooked challenges they face as immigrants in a rapidly changing society. These women are immigrant elders who have been an integral part of the community, serving and uplifting their community. These stories are often ignored and underrepresented in mainstream media.

Filming Log “Las Bellezas de Los Angeles”

For 12 days, we walked with camera and heart through East Los Angeles, guided by five extraordinary women over the age of 70 who generously opened their homes, their work, and their most intimate stories. In every word, smile, and tear, they gifted us a legacy woven with dignity, strength, and wisdom.

Las Bellezas de Los Ángeles—a production by Generaciones en Acción—will come to light in 2026. This collective dream was made possible thanks to the support of the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health and the collaboration of Community Partners.

Each scene is a seed of memory for future generations. A celebration of the feminine power that nurtures and transforms our communities.
